## Problem

monday.com was strong at task management, but enterprise PMO and construction teams hit a ceiling. They needed rigorous waterfall planning: dependencies, baselines, and timelines that could replace tools like Microsoft Project without feeling like one.

## Role

I led interaction architecture and visual design for the Gantt view, working closely with product and engineering on performance constraints and scheduling logic.

## Decisions

We treated the Gantt as a planning engine, not a pretty chart. Dependencies moved from modal forms to direct drag-and-drop links. The timeline stayed time-scale agnostic so a two-hour sprint and a five-year roadmap used the same interaction model. Virtualization rules shaped the UI so thousands of items still scrolled smoothly.

## Outcome

The Gantt became a core Enterprise planning surface. It helped unblock large deals that needed industry-standard timeline parity, and cut the time to wire complex plans from hours of modal clicking to minutes of direct manipulation.
